Digitalization has reached the healthcare system and will fundamentally change it. The growing trend toward digital healthcare is a topic of outstanding importance and, at the same time, offers opportunities for a more efficient healthcare system. Innovative and digital measures in this area have so far largely focused on the primary processes of diagnostics and therapy, with little attention paid to supporting or secondary processes such as logistics, sterile supply, food distribution, etc. However, hospitals have large amounts of data that can be linked using digital solutions and converted into usable information, enabling value-based decision-making. Based on its 20 years of research experience in hospitals, the Chair of Facility Management sees a unique opportunity to optimize processes through digital solutions.
